Reality TV

1. I didn't know that a lot of shows were mainly intended for adults, even if they see child friendly. 2. I didn't know that reality TV was becoming more of a family time kind of show. 3. I didn't know that most people watch them ALL THE TIME.

1. I do agree that TV is becoming more adult and vulgar, it is very noticeable by the way kids act today. 2. I like how the article puts kids into consideration, but pretty much states that TV is not good for children, no matter what era.

1. Why is reality TV so popular?

The Old Man and the Sea

1. I didn't know that people were making animations using oil paints. 2. I didn't know that multiple glass levels were needed. 3. I didn't know that the glass needed to be precise.

1. I liked how unique this style of animation is. I found it quite intriguing. I like how audio was included in the video instead of it just being a silent film or a film with just music. 2. I love knowing that there are people out there who will make animations with paint. It's quite admirable. As someone who paints, I find it interesting to learn that people will make a couple THOUSAND paintings to make an amazing animation.

1. Why paint and not a different media?

End of the Weeeeeekkkkkk

What made me happy: I finished my final project!
What made me sad: I missed a day of school.
What I learned: I finally learned how to make my audio sound good when it is apart of a narration.
What I want to learn: How to live on my own without my parental. @.@

I found it interesting how they incorporated memes and the real world, it all seemed very well planned out and neatly done. The audio also seemed good and nicely synced.

Disney just being Disney

1. I didn't know that Disney was making a movie based off of Dia de Los Muertos. 2. I didn't know that they were trying to have it trademarked. 3. I didn't know that there was a huge uproar about it.

1. I found it interesting that people were thinking that Disney was going to "own" the holiday. 2. I found it interesting that there was a lack of research done by people to see that there is no way that Disney could actually own the holiday due to legal reasons.

1. Would Disney have gotten the rights if they hadn't withdrawn?

Documentary Mistakes

1. I didn't know that having a question that needs to be answered could make a good documentary. 2. I didn't know that a bad soundtrack could ruin your film. 3. I didn't know that having a strong vision would help with the making of a documentary.

1. The grammar in this article really bothered me. It made me not want to read it. 2. I like the tips and I feel that they would be very useful for future film making.

1. Why is going for a homemade effect a bad thing?

Brave

1. I didn't know that Brave was about a Tomboy that was to break the stereotype of all princesses having to be pretty. 2. I didn't know that the creator made it based off of her teenage daughter. 3. I didn't know that Disney was causing issues with the creator by making Merida more feminine.

1. I hate to say it, but since I haven't seen the movie, it's hard for me to say whether or not the difference between the two pictures is extremely drastic. 2. I find it interesting how Disney has little to say about the "blatant sexism" while the creator and many other mothers are pretty much freaking out.

1. Why did Disney not ask for consent before changing the princess's image?

What made me happy: I finished my final project.
What made me sad: I need to pass this freaking class but I keep forgetting BLOGS.

What I want to learn: I want to learn how to prepare for college. @.@

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHjpOzsQ9YI&list=PL5DF6078ABC09FBCD&index=9

I really like this person's cinematography. His name is Devin Graham and all of his shots seem so nicely planned out and well executed. The locations that he always uses are also breath-taking.

Crowdfunding and the Future of Animation

1. I didn't know shows were trying to raise money on their own. 2. I didn't know that shows were saved by the fans. 3. I didn't know that companies rarely ever give the rights back to the owner.

1. I found it interesting that shows are now trying to raise money to make their animations. 2. I like how the article talks about the plus sides and the downsides of crowdfunding.

1. Why crowdfunding?

Standards of Living

1. A guy named Aaron Mento made an independent film using JUST an iPad 2. 2. He wrote a script that had the iPad 2 in mind. 3. He hired an audio team.

1. I thought it was interesting that he didn't use any filters for the film. 2. I found it interesting that he made a unique video with limited resources.

1. Why an iPad 2 though?

Hmm..

What I learned this week: I learned that trying to attend a college when you are considered apart of the "poorest" class of people around makes it impossible.

What I want to learn: I want to learn how to make my videos look cool

What made me happy: UBcon

What made me sad: School

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTXudHZM39Q

I found the style unique, and the story was very interesting. I also enjoyed the mixed media.

CODE MONEY

1. I didn't know there was a comic being made based of his music. 2. I didn't know that some of his characters intertwine. 3. I didn't know that there were musicals about.

1. I like how there was a lot of stuff revealed about the comic. 2. I like how a lot of questions were answered in the article.

1. Will the Creepy doll be a continuously seen character or not? :P

You suck Disney

1. I didn't know Disney stole an artist's drawing. 2. I didn't know that this happens to many artists. 3. I didn't know that many artists have a hard time telling big companies that their art work has been stolen.

1. It was interesting reading how Disney stole a copyrighted image. 2. I liked how informing this article was about how no matter what, it is still copyright infringement.

1. Why didn't Disney check to make sure that the work wasn't copyrighted?

Smell-O-Vision

1. I didn't know that they were even making a t.v. that could smell. 2. I didn't know that oils would be the best option. 3. I didn't know that this has been being worked on for over 50 years, but has been thought about for over 100.

1. I like nothing about it. I think that it just shows that people are getting way to bored and wasting money on pointless things instead of using it on more important things, like the planet. 2. The only thing I find interesting is the thought of capturing scents and using them for tv, but again, it seems like a waste of money.

1. Why a freaking smelly tv?

Ten Pointers

1. I didn't know that replacing "WAS, WERE, BEEN, BE and HAD" would allow a more enticing story. 2. I didn't that placing yourself in the characters head would be more interesting to the listeners and readers. 3. I didn't know that stereotyping emotions would make a story boring.

1. I like how straight to the point the writer was. 2. I like helpful the tips could actually be.

1. How simple would it be to write a story using only one of the given tips?

What I learned this week

What I learned this week: Being sick sucks, but I learned how to make demon eyes in AE
What I want to learn: I want to learn how to make it look like an actor is jumping through a wall.
What made me happy: I made it to school Friday.
What made me sad: I didn't get to film on Wednesday cause I was sick.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJRjorRFPlk

This video is extremely helpful when needing to learn how to make demon eyes. The only thing that I find distracting is the person's voice.

What I learned: I learned that I'm not destined to work with any form of video.
What I want to learn: I want to learn how to plan things out to fit in with school...

What made me happy: I'm finishing this blog.
What made me sad: I have NO time to film because of the musical and I don't know that to do.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jZcnfi5iCc

I like how interesting this girl's personality is in front of a camera. The camera shots are very simple but work well in the how-to video. :)

Math makes Magic

1. I didn't know that it;s best to have a strong math background. 2. I didn't know that Pixar was so heavily concerned about maths and codes when creating animations. 3. I didn't know that so much pre-planning was important.

1. I didn't know that companies buy people's v-logs. 2. I didn't know that making a good v-log doesn't involve a good editing software. 3. I didn't know that you don't have to be seen to have an interesting v-log!

1. I thought a lot of it was simple understanding. 2. I like how successful v-loggers got to put in their input.

1. Why are v-logs so popular?

What I want to learn: I WANT TO LEARN STAGE FIGHTINGGGGGGGG!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5IqwECL6bo&list=PLE30DFC5B7FA8E6E2&index=5

I liked how this was done. I like how fluent it was. What I thought was really cool was how the skateboard was a person with added in sound effects.

Indian VFX Artists

1. I didn't know that sweat shops were happening even in the movie industries. 2. I didn't know that artists were being exploited. 3. I didn't know that other country artists were risking their lives to follow their passion.

1. I liked how the writer explained the other side of the story. 2. I enjoyed the shared information about the VFX industry in other places.

1. Why are companies being greedy?

VFX

1. I didn't know that a lot of VFX studios were facing cut backs and many job losses. 2. I didn't know that a lot of the artists were not receiving credit for their hard work. 3. I didn't know that VFX studios were filing for bankruptcy due to the lack of income.

1. I thought this was very informative behind VFX situations that were happening off screen. 2. I liked how it discussed the lack of recognition towards all of the artists.

1. Why is there barely any recognition for VFX people?

What made me sad: I missed a day of school.

What I learned: I learned how to do picture stills. I found it really simple.

What I want to learn: I want to learn how to make it look like a person is running through a wall. I also would like to learn how to make twins. :P

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4drucg1A6Xk

I like the style of it. I also thought that the style was very interesting and well thought out, same with the actual story too. All of the animation was nicely executed as well.

Film Tips!

1. I didn't know that incorporating your own emotions into your work would be beneficial for the artist and the audience. 2. I didn't know that a person can animate feelings. 3. I didn't know that a person should have a lot of fun while working.

1. I like how simple the tips were to follow. 2. I thought that the tips were very unique.

1. How could an animator reach their goals without feeling as if they are reaching to high?

Motion Capture

1. I didn't know that the actor who played as Gollum also played Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. 2. I didn't know that Motion Capture was able to capture subtle human movements. 3. I didn't know that MC was becoming a popular form of animation.

1. I thought that the article was very informing about Andy Serkis and motion capturing. 2. I liked how the article discussed how motion capturing is used in movies and what it evolved from.

1. Will motion capturing be the future of movie making?

This week

This week I learned how to do a wall cut, and other interesting things.

What made me happy: I manged to finish some work.

What made me sad: We had shadowers.

What I would like to learn: I would like to learn how to do an awesome fight scene.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mghhLqu31cQ&list=FLyTxcDPS3Fe20R9gv0tde7w&index=1

This video did a very good job at displaying a mix between animation and real life video. It is very nicely plotted.

Transforming Hollywood

1. I didn't know that it's a good idea to learn an understanding of T.V. Series before moving on to movies that would possibly become hit movies. 2. I didn't know that it's hard to rise to be a great name due to the popularity of already famous people. 3. I never knew anything about either of those directors.

1. I found the article rather confusing due to all the grammar issues that were there. 2. I didn't really care much about the article in general. I thought it was rambling.

1. How did these two directors successfully transform Hollywood without, almost, ease?

Emoticons

1. I didn't know that facebook was thinking about making new and more pin-pointed emoticons. 2. I didn't know that Darwin was one of the first people to take notes on what makes an emotion what it needs to be. 3. I didn't know that there was a new movie coming out that Pixar hasn't even named yet.

1. I thought that the article was very insightful about human expressions and how hard it is to re-create them. 2. I found it interesting how the history of emoticons was explained.

1. Will emotions of this generation be captured more accurateness by the end of the year?

Steam Powered Giraffe!

I liked... hm... finishing some of my work!

I disliked, handing my stuff in late.

I learned, nothing really.

I want to learn combat fighting... STILL.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojYK6CW8gdw&list=UUS6RRU53yk8AEXmpmh0DpIw

This video is very simple. It is actually the singers that make the video simple. I liked how it was done.

Huh?

1. I didn't know that Disney was into ripping off other video game companies. 2. I didn't know that Disney was trying to come out with another game. 3. I didn't know that Disney was going to combine EVERY character into a game at some point.

1. I'm confused with this article. 2. I don't understand why Disney is wasting their time with ANOTHER game.

1. Why Disney? Why??

Escape from Tomorrow

1. I didn't know that people freely film in Disney all the time. 2. I didn't know that a small film was done in two of the Disney Parks. 3. I didn't know that over 200 people couldn't get in trouble or caught.

1. I think the article does a good job in explaining the situation, BUT I felt that adding in Sea World was kind of random. 2. I think that discussing Disney's reaction to the film was a nice thing to add in.

1. Why did he decide to film in Disney?

Roll a D6

Well...

I liked, not being in school for a whole week.

I disliked, that I was really sick and stuck in bed. D:

I learned, how to sync a sound recorder to video.

I want to learn, how to combat fight... still waiting..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54VJWHL2K3I

I like the transitions that are used, and I liked the animation. It was great! I also liked how they were dressed.

I felt like this fit the DnD article.

HOLY GIFS!

1. I had no clue that gifs have been around for about 130 years. That's crazy! I knew about the zoopraxiscope, but I didn't know that it was the start of, what are now, animated GIFs. 2. I didn't know that they were as popular as they are now. That kind of shocked me. 3. I didn't know that GIFs were used to settle arguments.

1. I thought the article was cool, it taught me some things that I never knew before. 2. I liked how it used examples of how they were used, and when.

1. How long will GIFs be around for?

I rolled a Nat20 in my skill check. Still Awesome.

1. I had no clue that DnD has been around for so long. I have only been playing it for a few years. I just didn't know that it's been around 38 years. That's crazy and awesome! 2. I didn't know that DnD was told to be connected to worshiping Satan or whatever. That makes no sense! I've never been in a game where Satan was introduced, not even a demon! 3. I didn't know that DnD was THE BASES of all the other awesome board games that are out there. I find that rather cool.

1. I thought that the article was interesting in how it discussed both sides of the story, from a non-gamers point of view, and a gamers point of view. I felt like a lot of the information was quite accurate. I got to agree that the game makes social interaction and math much easier. 2. I liked how it said that just because movies are really interesting, doesn't mean that the game is going to become more popular. It's true. For awhile, I thought DnD was for, well, losers and nerdy guys with no lives. Oh how I was wrong. I started playing, because a friend invited me to their game, and it opened me up to a whole new world. It's much different from the rest of society, and I've even found people like me who play. It's rather awesome, and it's a very good escape from reality.

1. Why were there no interviews with a new player in the article?
